The Kinship Art Project is designed to employ art making processes across multiple workshops, excursions and other creative activities in the exploration of connection, identity, and community.
At its core, the project delves into the bonds that unite us—whether through human (each other) or non-human relationships (objects, materials, flora and fauna). It invites participants to reflect on the ways these relationships shape our sense of self and belonging.
Through collaborative art-making, storytelling, and various creative practices, the project encourages individuals to engage with their personal histories, intimate connections, cultural traditions, and the collective stories of their communities.
The Kinship Art Project fosters an environment of inclusivity and diversity where voices come together to create meaningful works that celebrate unity, resilience, and the strength found in our deep interconnections.
This initiative serves as a space for both healing, hope and celebration, using art as a powerful tool to deepen understanding, and strengthen the ties that bind us all.
Kinship Collage Cloud Project - Workshop 1
Join GalleryF Creative Arts Inc for the first in a series of ongoing collage making workshops designed to explore notions of Kinship connections and interrelationships in our community.
Our aim is to support participants in the creation of vibrant and meaningful collages that illustrate the beauty and uniqueness of their kinship connections and celebrate the diverse ways that these relationships occur for each of us.
All materials are provided but we do encourage you to bring along your own source material such as old magazines you have purchased and no longer need, that reflect your unique interests, hobbies, and passions.
We envisage that the play/work you undertake in this workshop will contribute to a community of collages, created within many diverse groups across our Mallee landscape throughout 2025. We plan for these to be exhibited together in the spirit of Kinship values, interrelationships and connections in the future at a location TBC.
